INKBLOC was born through an outreach scheme, so working in this field is a place where we are right at home! We trained as theatre practitioners on our Made in Bristol course at Bristol Old Vic, and love working alongside young people and different communities in our work.

WoodCraft Folk

In December 2018, Alison & Claire worked with the Bath Woodcraft folk, leading several theatre workshops with their 6 – 10 age group, exploring themes of exploring and the stories behind our show ‘Onwards and Upwards’.

British Exploring Society

In October 2018 Alison & Claire headed to London and lead theatre workshops with the young people of the British Exploring Society, helping them create presentations on their recent explorations.

Bristol Old Vic: Cotham Young Directors

In 2017 – 2018 Alison & Claire worked as co-directors on the Cotham Young Directors scheme, a collaboration between Bristol’s leading performing Arts School and Bristol Old Vic. Over a period of 6 months, Alison and Claire worked with a group of sixth form students to create an entirely devised piece of theatre; ‘The Tale of Circlididal’.

Bottoms Up

In November 2017, Amy directed an outdoor, site specific performance of ‘Bottom’s Up’ in Hyde Park, London with the Central School of Speech and Drama. The piece was part of the international live stream event which used theatre to discuss climate change, in collaboration with Climate Change Theatre Action.

Wyldwood Arts

In 2016 & 2017 the company worked with Wyldwood Arts, a south west based arts company working with older people in care homes. We ran workshops with the group and devised two performances with the older participants and for them, performing at Monica Wills home in Bristol and Wyldwood Arts Festival “Mayfest”.
